Take Flight with Intentional Skills: Have you been eyeing the great jumps in the area and wonder: How do you even start doing that? Rather than just launching down the trail and hoping for the best, wouldn’t be awesome if you had a plan and understanding of the elemental skills needed to jump in control?
Maybe you are already hitting the jump lines but are having inconsistent outcomes. Sometimes it goes fine, but other times it feels weird and out of control.
This intro to jumping clinic is designed to teach you the skills needed to evaluate the size and shape of any jump and understand how to tweak your skill application based on your speed. “Press” and “Absorb” are the elemental skills. We’ll teach you how to do each one, when and how much to apply them. Let’s make YOU the driver in control of taking flight.

This clinic is for women, woman-identifying, and non-binary individuals.
This clinic is appropriate for all level riders wanting to learn to jump with more intention, control, and confidence.
Riders who have never had their wheels off the ground will learn proper technique to get started, get PLENTY of repeatable practice.
Intermediate level jumpers will benefit from going back to basics, refining the essential fundamentals to jump with control.

The Lead instructor for this clinic will be Tiffany Litsey, a certified Level 2 “AIR Instructor” through the PMBIA. Read Tiffany’s full profile. If we have enough people (more than 6), we’ll open a new group with Coach Whitney Houck.

This is a small group clinic with a maximum of 6 people. If we get more than 6 people, we’ll add another instructor and start a 2nd group.
We’ll start with an intro to listen to your previous experience and goals, then set expectations and a plan for the clinic
Then, we’ll move into a skills assessment and move through the essential pre-requisite skills including Body Position / Balance and creating effective “Press and Absorb” technique in an open area.
We’ll then start with a small jump to get the feel for it. After we get comfortable and consistent on that jump, we’ll incorporate other jumps to get lots of practice and feedback. As always, we need to dial back the challenge of the terrain to be able to actually practice new things!
