MTB Skills Factory Customer Reviews
“Josh is a phenomenal instructor with unparalleled expertise! He was able to break down skills in a manageable way for immediate improvement in my mountain biking skills. He gave me the confidence to try (and conquer!) features I have been avoiding for years. I would highly recommend lessons with Josh to any rider (from novice to expert) looking to up-level their mountain biking skills.”

“I consider myself to be an expert level rider, but Josh took be back to basics and helped me identify a number of bad habits in my form. We had a great day out on the trails drilling through various corners, trying different techniques, and reviewing video footage. The stopwatch doesn't lie and I was immediately faster after implementing what I learned”

“On our trip to NC, my son and I spent a day of guided riding with Josh that was certainly one of the best memories for us in 2021. Josh is the consummate professional who has the hard skills of being able to clearly articulate to a rider what's happening on the bike and how to enhance one's abilities. Along with that, he also holds the soft skills of making it fun, enjoyable, and welcoming. Josh's level of expertise and positive personality traits make him the type of guide and instructor that we will most certainly choose again in the future. I strongly recommend him to anyone!

“Over the last 3 years I have benefited from participating in several skills clinics with Josh. I think the thing that separates his camps from others is the way Josh organizes and conducts them. First by articulating a clear lesson plan, then takes you out and spends the necessary time to explain and demonstrate the skills you want to learn, and then solicits feedback after. Josh has a real knack for being able to break things down to its most basic element so it’s very easy to understand exactly how to execute the skill. Every time I’ve participated in one of his clinics I’ve always learned something new or picked up something I missed before. But the best things about his camps, is they are always such much fun! If you want to become a better mountain biker, highly recommend any training or skills instruction with Josh!”

“I made huge progress in one private lesson, specifically I'm able to descend much faster and safer. I'm a racer and was really struggling with low side crashes, Josh helped me find way more traction in corners with changes to my body position.”

“Josh is an amazing mtb coach. My son began working with him several years ago at a summer mtb camp and his skills improved dramatically. Whenever we are in the Asheville/Kanuga area we try to work with Josh. Josh’s special sauce as a mtb coach is to be mindful of risks and consequences in others words continue to ride within yourself while at the same helping to build skills so your riding abilities improve in such a way that your comfort and confidence also increase. Also, Josh is a genuinely nice guy that I enjoy spending time with on the trails.”

“Josh broke down each skill with our group and then gave fantastic individualized feedback on the trail.”

“Josh Whitmore coached me for four hours and made me a better rider. I learned to shift my weight and position on the bike in ways that increased my control and grip under changing trail conditions. I learned to open all my senses to my surroundings as I rode, and to change my focus quickly between immediate terrain and the trail ahead. Now I ride faster, smarter, and safer, and I keep deepening the skills I learned that day.”

“I am not a fit athlete, but was looking to improve my skillset. Josh tailored the lesson to meet my specific needs. Josh listened to what I wanted and provided exactly what I needed. Josh was very friendly. It felt more like a ride with a buddy than a coach.”
